Position Title: Spa Therapist

Position Summary (Purpose): The Spa Therapist administers a variety of spa services and provides support services to coordinating staff. Spa services include the administration of non-surgical fat-reduction treatments, the application of professional facials, exfoliation treatments, phlebotomy services, and select body treatments, as well as providing service recommendations.

Major Functions (Primary Duties and Responsibilities):

  • Gather guest medical history and inquire about contraindications
  • Under the direction of a Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and Collaborating Physician develop guest plans for esthetic non-surgical fat reduction treatments: find suitable alternatives to contraindications
  • Provide esthetic non-surgical cosmetic fat reduction treatments
  • Administer various spa services, including exfoliation treatments and select cosmetic body treatments as identified: assist Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and Collaborating Physician with procedures by performing venipunctures and setting up procedure room as directed
  • Make guest services and treatment recommendations by analyzing skin types, educating guests regarding their esthetic cosmetic treatment options and selecting the option best suited for the guest’s needs
  • Accurately maintain and update guest records while the guest is present; recording date and time of agreed proposal and documenting results from the previous session as well as noting the planned forthcoming treatment(s) per federal, state, local and company regulations and policies
  • Communicate clearly and concisely all relevant information regarding guest in documentation, and notify the overseeing physician as necessary: report accidents and safety concerns
  • Proved guest care, assessment, consultation, treatment planning, implementation and evaluation of treatments, to ensure the best outcomes for the guest
  • Effectively and accurately manage the storage, administration and ordering of cosmetic and non-cosmetic supplies
  • Conduct and participate in relevant audits with spa staff to ensure inventory levels are maintained and recorded to ensure that the appropriate and efficient use of supplies and products are being administrated
  • Organize and assist with the organization of special events, as well as their execution
  • Maintain and develop professional knowledge and clinical skills through regular and ongoing education and training in position and spa specific procedures, practices, and services
  • Educate subordinate staff on procedures and practices related to spa services to ensure knowledge development, professional approach toward guest services, and adherence to federal state, local and company regulations and policies
  • Demonstrate and share knowledge of treatments, actions, and effects of recommended treatments, as well as counterproductive guest behaviors
  • Demonstrate strong procedural, technical and anatomical competency of esthetic cosmetic techniques for the various esthetic cosmetic procedures offered
  • Develop a guest base through active marketing, networking and promotion of personal and Spa brand across various marketing and networking mediums
  • Meet sales goals and develop a book of business; recommending services and retail products
  • Work as part of an esthetic non-surgical cosmetic team that provides the highest level of guest care and service: resolve guest complaints and concerns effectively and in a timely manner
  • Practice independently on all cosmetic treatments and in line with company policies and protocols
  • Practice and maintain a positive and constructive professional attitude and behavior toward: the completion of job responsibilities; team relationships; organizational goals and objectives and; organizational initiatives and sales objectives: making sure to provide feedback to Spa Manager
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests (in person or vial email, telephone, text and social media messaging), ensuring complete satisfaction
  • Clean, sanitize, organize and maintain equipment and procedure room, to ensure a safe, sanitary and healthy procedure environment: launder, fold and store linens: report maintenance needs/concerns
  • Perform follow-up calls to guests: review treatment, answer questions, schedule follow up
  • Facilitate scheduling of services with coordinating personnel
  • Attend all meetings, seminars and trainings as directed

Qualifications:

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of spa services
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Possess excellent cleanliness and sanitation skills
  • Comfortable consulting patients regarding cosmetic and non-cosmetic treatment options, techniques and treatment plans
  • Registered Nurse/Medical Assistant/Nurse Assistant and/or Phlebotomist certification as required by applicable state law

Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift at least 30lbs
  • Exposure to blood and bodily fluids
  • Continual use of manual dexterity, gross motor skills, bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
