Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Fillers
JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® are FDA-approved dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our skin and acts to draw water to promote hydration, which is why it is advertised in the majority of moisturizers. Because our body has hyaluronic acid in it, they are very safe to use!

Which Hyaluronic Acid Filler is Right for Me?
There are different types of hyaluronic acid fillers for different goals. You will work with your VIO Med Spa provider to determine the best injectable filler and treatment plan based on your aesthetic goals.
JUVÉDERM®
The Allergan Juvéderm® family of fillers is a leading collection of hyaluronic acid fillers to temporarily lift & contour cheeks, smooth lines, or plump lips by temporarily restoring your skin’s volume with a modified form of hyaluronic acid for patients over the age of 21. You’ll work with your treatment provider to determine the best Juvéderm filler for you based on your aesthetic goals.
JUVÉDERM FILLERS FOR LIPS
If you’re looking to simply make your lips fuller, JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC is recommended. It has a thicker texture and adds significant, noticeable volume.
JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC is a great choice if you have smaller lips and want to gradually add volume over time or make subtle changes to the size and shape of your lips. This filler is thin and lightweight, making it a great choice for minimizing perioral wrinkles as well.
JUVÉDERM FILLERS FOR FACE & CHEEKS
JUVÉDERM® XC and JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC are injectable gel fillers used to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. JUVÉDERM® XC offers robust volume while JUVÉDERM® VOLLURE™ XC adds subtle, softer volume.
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC is the thickest filler offered by Allergan. It is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour cheeks, adding volume and lifting the skin.
Restylane®
The Galderma Restylane® family of products are for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds in patients over the age of 21. The Restylane® line can also be used to provide subtle lip enhancement, lift and add volume to the cheeks and helps reverse signs of volume loss in the face and hands.
Restylane® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin, correcting moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds like the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth. It can also be used for lip enhancement.
Restylane-L® are used for lip augmentation.
Restylane® Silk is used for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral wrinkles.
Restylane® Lyft™ is the first and only hyluronic acid filler FDA-approved to treat your face and hands. It is used to add volume for a smoother, fuller appearance. Restylane® Lyft™ is for deep implantation into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, hands, cheek augmentation and the correction of age-related mid-face contour deficiencies.
Restylane® Refyne is designed to provide natural results by supporting your skin. This filler is used to soften laugh lines to restore a more natural look while maintaining facial expressions.
Restylane® Defyne is also used to smooth out deep laugh lines as well as enhance chin projection. This hyaluronic acid filler helps restore a more youthful, natural-looking appearance while allowing you to maintain your natural expressions and facial movement.
How Much Dermal Filler Do You Need?
One syringe of filler is 1 mL- equivalent to 1/5 teaspoon. You’ll work with your aesthetics provider to determine how much filler you need.You may require multiple syringes to achieve your aesthetic goals.
How Long Do Results Last?
The results may last one year to two years, depending on product, metabolic rate, age, amount injected, and are dependent upon optimal treatment and formula used.
